The Planning Process
Your first step as a prospective client is a complimentary one-hour consultation where we present our services. This informal meeting allows us to get an overview of your current financial situation and needs. Call our office to setup an appointment.
Within five business days following the initial meeting we provide a summary of services offered and fees based on your specific requests. Then, once an advisor relationship is initiated, the planning steps are as follows:
Step One (Collect Information) - We will send you a Client Information Form to be completed by you and returned.
Step Two (Set Goals & Priorities) – Next, a meeting or call (About 2 hours) is scheduled to go over all the information and clarify your goals, values and priorities.
Step Three (Review Alternatives) – We schedule a meeting (About 2 hours) to present your draft financial plan and answer any questions. This includes presenting your Investment Policy:
- Personal risk comfort level
- Asset class allocation to be used in your portfolio
- Investment time line to meet your goals
- Projected results with your individual assumptions
Step Four (Final Plan Approval) – Your final plan is provided based on any revisions we discovered during the “draft review”. Once you decide to have Covenant Advisors manage your portfolio, our team will provide support for a smooth implementation. Your investment account will be established with our preferred custodian. (Funds are not held by us.) Nominal transaction fees are paid to the custodian. An annual fee is charged by Covenant Advisors based on the size of your portfolio. Account transfers usually take between two and four weeks. (Our Asset Management Agreement and fee schedule is available upon request.)
Once the transfers are complete, we will setup a 90-day review and then at least once a year for an annual evaluation. You will receive quarterly statements for your accounts directly from the account custodian.
